Well the party was a huge success! She had a wonderful time, as did her friends, and she received some really great gifts! She has also since gone out and purchased a FurReal Puppy named Ava with some birthday money and also has her eye on a scooter!
The winter weather I believe may finally be behind us now! The snow is steedily melting away, leaving the beautiful brown grass below (now I remember why I liked the snow so much, it covered all the yuck!). But the trees are getting buds, and the shrubs and flowers are getting ready to turn, so the end is in sight! The kids have been enjoying days outside playing in the driveway (the only place that is somewhat dry) and going for walks with me in the neighborhood! We have also been enjoying the grille again! It is so nice to be able to grille out!
The plans for the deck are finalized... we are just waiting for the materials to go on sale (sometime in the next couple of weeks) and the yard to dry up a little bit before starting! I cannot wait to have that completed... the 2nd project is putting the play set in and then the patio. I hope to get a little landscaping done too this spring/summer and other than sit back and enjoy the back yard space.
This weeks seems to be going a bit better with school for Lauren. Last week was hard with that extra half hour tacked on to the end... she was so tired and it really cut into the night having her just getting home at 4:15pm! The time change last week when it started didn't help either! But this week we seem to be back to normal... the cranky level has significantly dropped down! DH on the other hand is a bundle of joy.... he has been grumpy-butt for the last few days due to some really long and odd hours with work! He has been getting called in at like 9pm coming home at 2am... then heading back into work at his normal 7am... whew he is grumpy... plus he just wants to get out and get started on his projects!
Mason... well he is just plugging away... still the sweetest little man you'd ever meet... I meant to take some pics of him this weekend, in his cute state... He and I had a blast making a HUGE fort in his room with sheets and blankets, pillows and all sorts of things... just the two of us, while Lauren was at a friends house! He is my buddy... although I think he is starting to lean toward DH as buddy! He thinks this year he gets to start "hunting" with his Dad so he is watching hunting viedo's with him and coming out all deck out in his gear and staring out the window looking at deer in the backyard! What DH has in mind for "hunting" this year is really hiking and checking things out... not really hunting per say!
So that is the update in a nut shell! Lots going on as norm, but nothing super note worthy!
